Visit LibreServer

LibreServer is a Debian-based operating system designed to let individuals run their own internet services independently, moving away from reliance on large corporate platforms. It addresses the problem of centralized control over online communication and data by enabling self-hosting of essential services on personal hardware, such as an old laptop or a single-board computer.

The system includes a wide range of applications for communication and collaboration, such as email, chat via XMPP or Matrix (Conduit), VoIP through Mumble, and social networking with Epicyon. It also provides tools for content creation and management, including wikis (Dokuwiki), blogs (Bludit), collaborative documents (Etherpad, CryptPad), and file storage (Nextcloud). Additional capabilities include media streaming (MPD, Icecast), project management (KanBoard), and version control (Forgejo). LibreServer can also be run on an onion address for enhanced privacy.

This system is intended for individuals, families, or small groups who want to regain autonomy over their digital infrastructure. It is available as a free, open-source operating system, and the website provides installation guides and documentation for setting up and managing the server.
