Kanboard
Simple visual task board.
Kanboard is a free and open source Kanban project management tool designed for teams that want a straightforward way to visualize and organize work. It provides a visual task board where tasks can be moved between columns with drag and drop, helping users see the current status of a project at a glance. The software is self-hosted and emphasizes simplicity, with a deliberately limited feature set to keep the interface clear and easy to use.
Key capabilities include work-in-progress limits that highlight columns when limits are exceeded, a query language for searching and filtering tasks by assignees, description, categories, and due date, and support for subtasks, attachments, comments, and Markdown task descriptions. Tasks can be moved or duplicated across projects, and automatic actions can change assignees, colors, categories, and other properties based on events. Kanboard supports LDAP/Active Directory and OAuth2 providers such as Google, GitHub, and GitLab for authentication, and is translated into over 30 languages.
Kanboard is distributed under the MIT License and is available as free and open source software.
