Infura is a Consensys product that provides API access to blockchain networks, including Ethereum, along with IPFS storage. It is designed to help developers connect decentralized applications to these networks, with a focus on high availability, scalability, and throughput for both new projects and larger deployments.

The platform offers access to more than 40 supported networks, expansion APIs such as the Gas API, archive data, and streaming access. Additional capabilities include Debug and Trace APIs, settings overrides, usage notifications, and request visibility. Infura also integrates with Consensys products, including the MetaMask SDK, Snaps, and Linea. Its Decentralized Infrastructure Network (DIN) initiative aims to decentralize the RPC layer. IPFS API and dedicated gateway access is available to a limited number of pre-qualified customers.

Infura is intended for developers, teams, and enterprises building decentralized applications. It is packaged as a credit-based pricing model, with a free Core plan, paid Developer and Team plans, and a custom Enterprise plan. Paid plans include higher daily credit quotas, greater throughput, additional API keys, and features such as API key sharing, crypto payments, and customizable scaling. Additional credits are available as add-ons, and plans can be upgraded or downgraded through the dashboard.
