HumanLayer

The multiplayer control plane for your software factory

Visit HumanLayer

HumanLayer is a multiplayer coding agent IDE and cloud that brings agent sessions, plan artifacts, and code diffs into one shared workspace. It is designed for teams that want to coordinate AI-assisted coding work across a workstation and remote environments, with the same interface available on web, desktop, and phone.

The platform groups tasks, sessions, artifacts, and worktrees together, and supports versioned research, design, structure, plan, and implementation documents with comment-driven review. It includes a six-phase workflow (Questions, Research, Design, Structure, Plan, Implement), a command palette, and visibility into agent thinking, subagent tool calls, and code changes. A local daemon can run parallel agent sessions on a laptop, with cloud daemons for longer-running work, all synchronized through the HumanLayer API. Integrations include Linear and Jira for issue sources, and the stack can run on a workstation or remote workers with your own compute and agent harness.

HumanLayer is aimed at engineering teams working on large codebases who need shared review and orchestration around agent-driven development. Task creation supports multiple workflows, including guided research-plan-implement, outline-based implementation, PRD-oriented design, one-shot implementation, and freeform sessions, with multi-repository worktree setup.
