It addresses the operational work of maintaining DNS records, renewing domains, and securing services, with support for redundancy and DNS security features such as DNSSEC and DDoS defense.
Core capabilities include ALIAS records, Anycast DNS, regional records, reverse DNS, HTTPS redirects, and one-click service integrations. The platform provides a REST API with official client libraries for Ruby, Go, Elixir, Node.js, .NET, Java, PHP, Python, and Rust, along with a CLI and a Terraform provider for infrastructure-as-code workflows. Domain Control Plane manages domains across DNSimple, Amazon Route 53, Microsoft Azure, CoreDNS, and other providers from a single interface.
DNSimple is aimed at developers, agencies, small and medium businesses, enterprises, domain resellers, and regulated sectors such as banking and insurance. DNS hosting is available with a 30-day free trial, and plans can be chosen with or without a contract, scaling by the number of zones in use.
