CFEngine
Know more, React Faster.
CFEngine is an infrastructure automation platform for DevSecOps teams that manages configuration, security hardening, and compliance across large, complex environments. It continuously applies policy to keep systems secure, compliant, and up to date, and includes an AI agent that answers questions about infrastructure by generating SQL queries that run against your database, with the option to choose your model provider, including local or on-premises setups.
Core capabilities include configuration management, CI/CD integration, patch management, infrastructure hardening, drift prevention, and compliance reporting. The platform provides dashboards for real-time compliance levels, performance monitoring, custom alerts and triggered actions, inventory reporting, and a Policy Analyzer that shows how each line of policy performs on servers. It supports major platforms such as RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, and Windows Server, with additional support for environments including OpenBSD, IBM AIX, macOS, and Solaris.
CFEngine is available as an open-source Community Edition running on Linux, and a commercial Enterprise Edition running on Windows and Linux that adds inventory and compliance reports, APIs, a web interface, alerts and dashboards, and enhanced platform support. Enterprise includes a dedicated support team, and a free trial lets you connect up to 25 hosts without a credit card.
