Azul Payara Server
Mission-critical Jakarta EE application server for modernizing workloads migrating off Web
Azul Payara Server is a Jakarta EE 11 certified application server for running mission-critical Java applications in the data center, in containers, and on public cloud. It supports concurrent releases from Azul Payara 4 through 7, covering Java EE 7 onward, allowing teams to modernize existing applications without rewrites while moving off legacy application servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, and JBoss EAP. Monthly security patches are backported to supported versions on a published schedule.
Key capabilities include an administrative console, Payara InSight monitoring, telemetry and observability, an extended notification service integrating with Slack, Datadog, New Relic, MS Teams, email, JMX, JMS, and SNMP, integrated SSL certificate management, a diagnostics tool, and security backporting. Azul Payara 7 adds Jakarta Concurrency 3.1 and Jakarta Data 1.0 within the existing CDI container. Developer tooling includes Azul Payara Starter, the Server Upgrade Tool, Arquillian containers, IDE plugins, and connectors for Kafka, Amazon SQS, Azure Service Bus, and MQTT. The server runs on any compatible JDK.
Azul Payara Server is intended for teams operating regulated, high-availability, and large-scale Java workloads. It is packaged with a multi-phase lifecycle offering Full, Extended, and Lifetime Support across major releases, with per-vCore pricing. A free, community-supported edition, Azul Payara Community, is also available, along with a free trial and Accelerator services for migration and cloud adoption assistance.
