Apache Sqoop is a tool for transferring bulk data between Apache Hadoop and structured datastores such as relational databases. The project has retired and moved to the Apache Attic.
Sqoop is distributed in two release lines: Sqoop 1, with the latest stable release at 1.4.7, and Sqoop 2, with the latest cut at 1.99.7. The Sqoop 2 release is not compatible with 1.4.7, is not feature complete, and is not intended for production deployment. Source code is available through Gitbox and GitHub, and releases can be downloaded from mirrors. Documentation is published for both release lines.
The project is aimed at users moving data between Hadoop and relational databases. It is released as open-source software under the Apache Software Foundation, with community support through mailing lists and an IRC channel.
