Affinity is a creative software suite that combines vector design, pixel and photo editing, and page layout in a single application, using the .af file format. It aims to reduce the need to switch between separate tools by keeping design, editing, and layout work within one document.

The suite includes Vector, Pixel, and Layout modes, along with features such as the Blend Tool, In-App Scripting, and non-destructive editing with saved undo history. It supports importing file types including PSD, AI, IDML, and DWG with layers and structure preserved. Integrations cover Canva for collaboration and export, DaVinci Resolve for native .af support in video editing, Capture One for photo handoff, and an AI Connector with Claude for automating production tasks and building custom workflows. Canva premium plan holders can also access AI tools within Affinity. It runs natively on macOS for Apple silicon and Intel, with a Windows version available and an iPad version in development.

Affinity is aimed at designers, illustrators, and photo editors working across graphic design, digital illustration, logo creation, and layout. It is free for individuals, with organization-level options including SSO available through Canva Enterprise and Canva Education. The Capture One and DaVinci Resolve integrations are included at no additional cost, while the AI Connector with Claude is free during its beta period.
