Trench

Open Source Analytics Infrastructure

Visit Trench

Trench is event tracking infrastructure built on ClickHouse and Kafka, distributed as a single production-ready Docker image. It addresses the cost and performance issues that arise when event data is stored in a relational database, where large event tables become slow to query and expensive to maintain as applications scale.

Trench is compatible with the Segment specification, supporting Track, Identify, and Group calls. It provides real-time queries via SQL or REST, event delivery through throttled webhooks, and high event throughput on a single node. Because it ships as one Docker image, Kafka and ClickHouse are managed within the system rather than operated separately. Trench is open source under an MIT License and can be self-hosted on any cloud provider or used through a managed cloud offering.

Trench is available as a free open-source edition for self-hosting with community support, and an Enterprise edition with volume-based pricing, dedicated infrastructure, an optional on-premises deployment, SAML 2.0 SSO, third-party integrations, and dedicated support.
