Skylum (Luminar)

Skylum develops photo editing software centered on the Luminar product line, addressing the need for both individual image editing and automated processing of large photo volumes. The company also operates a marketplace for creative assets used alongside its editors.

Luminar on Desktop runs on macOS and Windows, while Luminar on Mobile covers iOS, Android, and ChromeOS, with a web version planned for Fall 2026. Editing capabilities include AI-assisted tools such as Sky Replacement, Accent AI, Portrait Bokeh, Background Removal, HDR Merge, Panorama Stitching, Focus Stacking, AI Upscale, NoiselessAI, GenErase, GenSwap, GenExpand, and batch photo editing. Luminar Engine is a headless, privacy-first suite for organizations processing 10,000+ photos per month, with no per-image fees. The marketplace offers presets, LUTs, overlays, skies, textures, courses, e-books, and software, some included through the Luminar Prime subscription.

Products are aimed at photography enthusiasts and professionals, with Luminar Engine targeting organizations handling high-volume editing. Luminar is offered through plans that work across devices, with a trial available for the desktop app; marketplace items can be purchased individually or accessed via the Luminar Prime subscription. Luminar Engine is packaged for business use, with volume licensing and reseller options, and is priced through contact with sales.
