rawgit.hack

CDN for your source code

Visit rawgit.hack

rawgit.hack is a caching proxy for serving files from source code hosting services. It forwards requests to the corresponding service, relays responses with correct Content-Type headers, and caches them briefly for development URLs and permanently for CDN URLs. This addresses the issue where hosts serve JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other file types as text/plain, preventing browsers from interpreting them correctly.

The service supports GitHub (including Gist), Bitbucket, GitLab, Gitea, and Codeberg. Development URLs reflect pushed changes within minutes, with cache time automatically extended under high traffic. CDN URLs are cached permanently based on the exact URL, using a specific tag or commit hash rather than a branch. Cache invalidation is available through a purge button or a DELETE request. HTML files are served as-is, with a confirmation page shown before opening them in browsers; non-HTML files and non-browser clients are unaffected. Both URL types are served through Cloudflare's global network.

rawgit.hack is free, with no formal uptime or support guarantees. It is built entirely on nginx and has been running since 2013.
