pretalx is open source conference management software covering the workflow from Call for Papers through talk selection, speaker communication, and schedule publication. It supports configurable submission forms with multiple deadlines and languages, customizable branding, reviewer teams with rating and review workflows, and additional reviewer questions. Speaker emails are placed in an outbox for review before sending, and speaker profile pages can carry information and downloads. Scheduling incorporates speaker availability, flags conflicts, and publishes a public schedule with an RSS feed, changelog, and static export.
It can be self-hosted or used through the hosted pretalx.com service, which handles backups, HTTPS certificates, updates, and monitoring. A plugin ecosystem extends functionality, and a REST API is available. Pricing for the hosted service is dynamic based on conference size, charged per event, with discounts for community events; self-hosting is free apart from server costs.
