Posit

Posit is a platform for developing, deploying, and governing R and Python workflows and AI-powered applications. It addresses the problem of analytics and AI work running on individual laptops or self-managed servers, which creates security risks for IT and infrastructure distractions for data teams. The suite provides a centralized, secure environment where code runs in a governed setting so results remain inspectable, verifiable, and reproducible.

The product suite includes Positron, a free code editor for data science with Python and R; Posit AI, an agent embedded in Positron and RStudio for data analysis; Posit Workbench, a browser-based environment supporting Positron, RStudio, Jupyter, and VS Code with scalable compute; Posit Connect and Connect Cloud for publishing apps, dashboards, APIs, and reports; and Package Manager for governing R and Python packages with vulnerability reports and blocking rules. Integrations include Snowflake, Databricks, AWS SageMaker, and identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, and Active Directory.

Posit is aimed at data scientists, data science leaders, IT leaders, and business leaders across industries including public sector, life sciences, financial services, and insurance. Posit Team bundles Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager as an end-to-end toolchain. Positron is offered as a free editor, and Connect Cloud provides a cloud environment for publishing content.
