Opengist

Self-hosted pastebin powered by Git.

Visit Opengist

Opengist is an open-source, self-hosted pastebin where each snippet is a Git repository. It lets users store and share code and text snippets while solving versioning, collaboration, and hosting control: snippets can be cloned and pushed over HTTP or SSH, managed through the Git CLI or API, and kept public, unlisted, or private.

Features include revision history with diffs, syntax highlighting, Markdown rendering with Mermaid, LaTeX, CSV, and media files, multiple files per snippet with ZIP download, likes, forks, topics, embeds, JSON access, and full-text and code search. Authentication covers OAuth with GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, or OIDC, LDAP, passkeys, TOTP, and WebAuthn, alongside admin controls such as requiring login, allowing anonymous snippets, managing users, and exposing Prometheus metrics.

It is intended for teams and individuals who want to run their own snippet host. Deployment options include a single binary, Docker image, or Kubernetes, backed by SQLite, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
