Visit Octopi

Octopi is a Qt-based graphical frontend for Pacman, the package manager used by Arch-based Linux distributions such as Arch, ArchBang, Chakra, KaOS, and Manjaro. It provides a two-panel interface consisting of a package list and a tab widget with six tabs: information, files, transaction, output, news, and a quick help guide. The tool handles installing, reinstalling, upgrading, and removing packages, syncing the Pacman database, and cleaning the cache, with command output viewable on demand through a transaction-based abstraction.

Additional capabilities include viewing installed package contents with the option to open and edit files, package descriptions shown in tooltips, and support for AUR and KCP tools including Trizen, Pacaur, and Yaourt. An Options dialog allows configuration of settings such as AUR preferences, and a Terminal tab with an embedded terminal is available when compiled with QTermWidget support. Octopi supports multiple desktop environments including Cinnamon, KDE, LXDE, MATE, Trinity, and XFCE, and is licensed under GPL2. It is available through the AUR and can be compiled from source.
