NoScript is a free, open source browser extension that lets users decide which websites can run JavaScript and other potentially harmful content. By blocking scripts by default and allowing them only for trusted sites, it aims to reduce exposure to browser-based security vulnerabilities and unwanted code execution.
The extension includes pre-emptive script blocking, anti-XSS protection, and per-site permission controls that can be adjusted with a click. It is available for Firefox, including Firefox on Android, as well as Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other browsers. NoScript is also included as a security component of the Tor Browser.
NoScript is distributed as free, open source software. The pages do not describe paid editions, trials, or seat-based or usage-based licensing.
