Nominatim
Open source geocoding with OpenStreetMap data
Nominatim is an open-source geocoding service built on OpenStreetMap data. It resolves place names and addresses to coordinates and performs reverse geocoding, returning an address for a latitude and longitude or for an OpenStreetMap object ID. It can power a search box with free-form queries in any language, or accept structured queries such as postcode, city, and type fields for processing address lists.
The software supports configurable imports of selected OpenStreetMap features, minutely data updates, and installations ranging from a local dataset to a full-planet server. It is distributed as a downloadable release with installation instructions, documentation, a cookbook, and an API. Occasional users can call the hosted API under its usage policy, while those needing their own deployment can install the software locally.
