Nabla Bio
Designing Better Medicines
Nabla Bio is a biotechnology company focused on making drug development a design discipline, reducing trial-and-error in the discovery process. The company combines generative AI-driven molecular design with large-scale, human-relevant biological testing, operating an integrated system of data, AI, and dry/wet-lab capabilities to design medicines with specified properties such as binding, developability, cellular function, and in-vivo performance.
At the core of the platform is JAM, a multimodal generative modeling system trained on protein sequence and structure data combined with Nabla-generated measurements. JAM supports de novo biologics design, epitope scaffolding and presentation, developability and affinity optimization, and the generation of multispecific architectures. The platform's experimental systems produce protein designs in mammalian systems and measure binding, developability, and function in cellular and in vivo contexts, feeding data back into the model. Applications include parallel de novo antibody design with epitope specification, generative design of multispecifics, and antibody design for difficult targets such as GPCRs, ion channels, and transporters.
Nabla Bio partners with pharmaceutical companies to design drugs, and the team is based in Cambridge, MA. The company publishes research in venues including Biorxiv, Nature Methods, and Nature Biotechnology.
