mycli

A command-line interface for MySQL with auto-completion, syntax highlighting, fuzzy search

Visit mycli

mycli is a command-line interface for MySQL-compatible databases, including MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, TiDB, and Apache Doris. It provides an alternative to the default mysql shell, with features such as auto-completion for SQL keywords, tables, views, and columns, syntax highlighting via Pygments, fuzzy history search using fzf, multiline queries, named favorite queries with positional parameters, query logging, pretty-printed tabular output, SSL connections, shell-style trailing redirects, and LLM querying with schema context.

It also supports smart context-sensitive completion, statement timing, password storage in the system keyring, and configuration through a ~/.myclirc file. Installation is available via pip or Homebrew, with fzf and Pygments as optional but recommended dependencies. The tool offers batch and execute modes, output formats including table, CSV, and TSV, checkpoint and resume for batch scripts, and various connection and SSL options. It is open source, with source code and a bug tracker hosted on GitHub.
