LoginWithHN implements an OpenID Connect flow where a user enters their Hacker News username, receives a one-time-use code to add to their HN profile within 5 minutes, and is authenticated once the code is detected on the profile. The only claim provided to the relying application is the username. Faster subsequent logins are available via TOTP or an attached email address.
