Halide
The best pro camera for iPhone and iPad
Halide is a camera app for iPhone and iPad that gives users a choice between the default iPhone processing pipeline and a more traditional, film-like capture experience. It addresses the tendency of phone cameras to apply automatic processing by offering Process Zero, which disables that processing to preserve natural color and contrast, alongside Looks, alternative processes that add film simulation effects such as grain, halation, and MTF. The app also supports importing RAW files from standalone cameras for rendering.
Key capabilities include an automatic mode with machine-learning assistance and a full manual mode covering shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. Focus tools include gesture-based manual focus, focus peaking, and a focus loupe. Additional features include a technical readout, DCI-P3 color, metadata view, custom white balance, and in-app photography lessons. Halide is available on the App Store with a free one-week trial at signup.
