Forward

Forward is an embedded payments infrastructure provider for software platforms that want to offer payments to their own customers without building the underlying systems themselves. It supports payment facilitation models, from managed programs to operating as a registered payment facilitator, and handles functions such as compliance and registration, underwriting and monitoring, authorizations and settlement, and white-label merchant software.

The platform includes developer tools such as a modern API, guides, sample apps, and embeddable elements, alongside payment operations covering onboarding, underwriting, risk management, and support tools. Growth services include program design, white-label payments sales, and marketing materials. Platforms can migrate between programs on the same tech stack as their needs change.

Forward is packaged into four plans: PFAC, Rails, Maximize, and Protect, differentiated by the share of payments revenue retained and the scope of services included, such as loss insurance or white-label sales support. Plan selection is guided by payment volume, customer count, adoption rate, and payments staffing.
