Forminit is a headless form backend that receives submissions from websites and applications built with any stack, while the customer builds and maintains the frontend. It handles server-side validation, file uploads, spam protection, notifications and data storage, removing the need to host form backend infrastructure.
Features include a form API with JavaScript and npm SDKs, support for HTML, React, Vue, Next.js, Nuxt, TanStack Start and other frameworks, AI-assisted setup, and quickstart guides for Node.js, Python, Flask, Django and FastAPI. It offers webhooks with HMAC-SHA256 signatures, Zapier integration, Slack and Discord notifications, custom email sending, and a Workflows module for routing and automating submissions. Spam controls include rate limiting, authorised domains, honeypots, Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha and IP-based abuse detection. Forms can run in Public or Protected Mode, and data is stored on AWS in Ireland with encryption in transit and at rest. GDPR and UK GDPR provisions include a Data Processing Agreement and documented subprocessors.
