Fantasy Grounds

VTT tools that keep the game moving

Visit Fantasy Grounds

Fantasy Grounds is a virtual tabletop for playing tabletop roleplaying games online, handling the routine work of running a session so groups can focus on play. It connects rules automation, prepared content, dynamic maps, 3D dice and campaign building in one platform, with cloud connectivity that handles networking automatically.

Core features include dedicated rulesets that resolve initiative, targeting, attacks, saves, damage, conditions and effects, with system-specific mechanics such as Savage Worlds raises, ALIEN stress and D&D concentration. Maps support lighting, line of sight, vision, fog of war and tokens, alongside a customizable 3D dice roller tied to character sheets and targets. Campaign tools cover unlimited campaigns, stories, encounters, NPCs, items, quests and reusable modules, with support for importing assets and exporting custom modules. Content comes through the Fantasy Grounds Store, My Library online reader, Character Vault and the Forge community portal, where creators share free and paid modules, extensions and rulesets. The app runs on Windows, macOS and Linux.

Core Game Master and player functionality is free, with no license required to host or play. Optional commercial books, art subscriptions and paid Forge projects cost extra. Automation depth varies by ruleset, so support should be checked per product.
