Edge Threat Management (NG Firewall) is a modular network security platform designed to simplify the protection and connectivity of an entire network. It addresses the complexity and cost of managing multiple security vendors by consolidating firewall, filtering, performance, connectivity, and management tools into a single, app-based interface. The platform is a key component of Arista’s Cognitive Unified Edge (CUE) cloud-managed solution.
The platform is organized into app categories that can be activated as needed. The Protect category includes Firewall, Intrusion Prevention, Phish Blocker, Threat Prevention, and Virus Blocker (which uses Bitdefender signatures). Filter apps cover Ad Blocker, Application Control, Spam Blocker, SSL Inspector, and Web Filter. Performance apps include Bandwidth Control, WAN Balancer, WAN Failover, and Web Cache. Connectivity apps offer Captive Portal, IPsec VPN, OpenVPN Tunnel, and WireGuard VPN. Management apps include Directory Connector, Policy Manager, Reports, Branding Manager, and Configuration Backup.
Edge Threat Management is aimed at IT professionals across industries such as K-12 schools, government, healthcare, hospitality, retail, nonprofits, and banking. A free trial is available. Special pricing is offered to qualifying public schools, libraries, state and local government institutions, NGOs, and other not-for-profit organizations. The platform is available as a software package or on new hardware, with subscriptions that can be tailored to include the Complete set of apps.
