Dead Link Checker is a web-based tool that crawls a website to identify broken links, helping webmasters and SEO professionals correct dead links that can affect indexing, rankings, traffic and conversions. It can also be used to analyse competitors' sites and to identify broken link building opportunities.
The tool offers free manual checks for single sites (Site check) and multiple sites (Multi check), with reports emailed automatically for multi-site runs. Auto Check runs checks on a regular schedule and emails reports automatically. Scan depth is set by a scan type: a quick scan checks only the page provided, while a full scan follows links up to ten levels deep. Scans respect the target site's robots.txt file, and users can exclude directories or set a crawl delay via a custom user-agent rule.
It is aimed at webmasters, SEO professionals and agencies. Access to the multi-site and auto checkers requires a free account. Three subscription packages cover automated link checking for regular monitoring of more than one site.
