CoolSoft
Where software is cool.
CoolSoft is a collection of free software utilities developed by a single author, covering tasks from audio and video handling to installer design and development tooling. The site also hosts a blog and a forum where users can read posts and discuss issues such as MIDI mapper behavior on Windows.
Main projects include VirtualMIDISynth, a software MIDI synthesizer implemented as a Windows multimedia user driver and exposed as a standard MIDI Out device; MIDIMapper, a replacement for the Windows MIDIMapper removed in Windows 8 and later; H264LevelEditor, a tool for changing the IDC profile level of H264/AVC encoded video streams; NSIS Dialog Designer, an IDE for graphically creating custom setup pages for the NSIS installer system; and SolutionBackup, a Visual Studio addin that creates ZIP backups of a solution or project containing only source files. Additional tools listed include PDF Property Extension, RTD Channel Editor, AutoZIP, NumericUpDown extended control, AutoPinTab and FileWatcher browser extensions, and Drupal-SQLite.
The utilities are aimed at Windows users, developers, and network administrators. The tools are released as free software, with optional contributions accepted through PayPal or Buy me a coffee; no paid editions, trials, or seat-based plans are described.
