Bytebot
Desktop agents that use computers like a human, at cloud scale
Bytebot is an open-source AI desktop agent that operates within a containerized Linux desktop environment. Users describe a task in natural language, and the agent boots a fresh, sandboxed computer to complete work across multiple applications by viewing the screen and clicking and typing through the user interface. It can run from one to hundreds of agents in parallel.
The environment includes a browser, file system, password manager, terminal, and code editor, with support for installing additional applications. Bytebot uses a trackpad, keyboard, and screen to execute clicks, scrolls, and keystrokes. Users can take control of the desktop at any point and resume the agent, and each action includes screenshots before and after for inspection. It runs locally with Docker Compose, on Railway, or on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Bytebot is suited to tasks such as secure logins with 2FA, development workflows, and technical research and summarization. It is open source and portable; no pricing or packaging details are stated.
