Boxes.dev

Cloud computers for Claude Code and Codex

Visit Boxes.dev

Boxes.dev provides each coding agent with its own Linux cloud computer, called a devbox, with an isolated filesystem, port forwarding, and a preinstalled development environment. This lets agents run in the cloud independently rather than competing for a single local machine, and work continues when the user's laptop is closed.

Devboxes are steered from desktop, mobile, terminal, web, Slack, Linear, schedules, and an API. Agents can be started by mentioning @boxes.dev in Slack, assigning a Linear issue, running on a cron schedule, or a single API call. The platform migrates a local folder or GitHub repository into a cloud setup plan, then creates snapshots from which new devboxes start. It runs Codex or Claude Code using the user's existing subscription. Team features include shared live sessions, preview URLs, SSO/SAML/OIDC, SCIM, audit logs, and spend controls.

Boxes.dev offers a free trial with included compute hours, per-user paid tiers with additional hours available, and a custom Teams edition with seat and hour pools. Sleeping devboxes are free, and compute is billed by the second.
