Android-x86 is an open source project that ports the Android Open Source Project to x86 platforms, providing a complete solution for running Android on common x86 hardware. It is described as an Android BSP for generic x86 platforms, with a complete, compilable and workable source tree available for developers.

The latest release includes kernel 4.19 with KMS, WiFi support with GUI, a better disk installer, power suspend/resume in S3 mode, battery status, audio via ALSA, V4L2 camera support, mirror mode on external monitors, external storage auto-mount, external keyboard support, debug mode with busybox, Bluetooth, and G-sensor support. Development work covers Android 10 (Q) porting, kernel upgrades to 5.4, OpenGL ES hardware acceleration for Intel, Radeon, NVIDIA, AMD GPUs and virgl, HDMI audio, LineageOS integration, and hardware accelerated codecs. The project is licensed under Apache Public License 2.0, with some components under GNU GPL 2.0 or later.
