Aave
Onchain savings, lending and borrowing
Aave is a decentralised, non-custodial liquidity protocol where users supply assets to earn interest or borrow against overcollateralised positions. Aave Labs is the original author and contributor to the protocol, which launched in 2020 following the earlier ETHLend project. The protocol runs on permissionless public blockchains such as Ethereum, with markets ranging from conservative stablecoin configurations to higher-yield arrangements. Aave Labs does not control or operate the protocol itself; changes are made through onchain governance by AAVE token holders.
